2003 NC Oyster Festival Logo Contest Winner
After receiving over a dozen entries from North Carolina and South Carolina residents, The Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and the 2003 North Carolina Oyster Festival Committee are proud to announce the winner of the 2003 NC Oyster Festival Logo Contest. The honor goes to artist Barbara Stanley for her hand-drawn oyster and shells design. Ms. Stanley is a well-known local artist and owner of SKIPPERGRAPHICS in Shallotte, NC. You can view and save a copy of Ms. Stanley’s design at the Brunswick County Chamber’s website at www.brunswickcountychamber.org.
Barbara Stanley’s artwork is also featured on the official NC Oyster Festival cookbook—Saltwater Sensations. The cookbook features 400 seafood recipes from local restaurants and families. You can purchase your own copy of the Saltwater Sensations cookbook by calling the Brunswick County Chamber at (800) 426-6644 and (910) 754-6644, or by logging onto the Chamber’s website at www.brunswickcountychamber.org -- then click on the “Oyster Festival” page and “Saltwater Sensations Cookbook”.
The committee has also awarded Honorable Mention to a young Logo contestant. Third-grader Bianca Shields of Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary in Calabash, submitted her drawing of oysters for the contest, and although her design will not be on the T-shirts and cookbook, Bianca’s drawing will be seen on the official NC Oyster Festival brochure.
The 2003 North Carolina Oyster Festival is set for Saturday and Sunday, October 18 and 19th at Ocean Isle Beach. The 2003 NC Oyster Festival is sponsored by Brunswick Community Hospital and event Sponsors Atlantic Telephone, Coastal Federal Bank, Surf Unlimited, Twin Lakes Seafood Restaurant, Island Breeze and Shirley Johnson of Coldwell Banker Sloane Realty.
Details about entertainment and festival activities will be released in the coming weeks. |
