Postsecondary education is available through Brunswick Community College which awards associate degrees, certificates and diplomas in numerous programs including aquaculture, child care worker certification, law enforcement, business, information systems, nursing and turfgrass management. A member of the North Carolina Community College System, Brunswick Community College provides a college transfer program, including an arrangement with the University of North Carolina at Wilmington that allows students to take the first two years of general college requirements at BCC, then move smoothly to the larger campus at UNCW. Demand is strong for graduates of the fish farming and shellfish production management program, one of only a handful in the country. A construction trades curriculum for high school students is strong with a center on campus to provide these classes to all county high schools. Scholarships and financial aid programs provide low-cost education to Brunswick County residents.
With 28 full-time and 111 part-time instructors, the college is able to offer classes at its main campus in Supply as well as in Leland and Southport. Weekend classes are offered in both Supply and Leland. Cultural programs for the BCC Odell Williamson Auditorium are also strong at the school. Continuing education courses are offered at each campus as well as various locations throughout the county. http://www.brunswick.cc.nc.us/
